Undercutter KUC24 is an ideal tool for removing ballast under already positioned rail tracks, for example when replacing damaged sleepers. The tool can be mounted on excavators with 14–24 ton operating weight and can be attached to an existing tiltrotator.
The undercutter goes in from the side under the sleepers and rails and cuts out the ballast bed, enabling quick and easy removal of damaged sleepers before the ballast is restored and tamped. It is available in three different lengths with cutting depths 2450, 3050 and 3650 mm. Automatic and hydraulic chain tensioning as well as easy chain replacement minimize downtimes.
